Illusions of perfection
This year's theme is all about looking past fake facades in people and uncover their true selves. This is a topic that has to be discussed in this day and age, where social media platforms — and the Internet as a whole — made it so much easier for people to develop personas that make them seem much more friendly and trustworthy than they actually are.
Speakers would discuss about how to stay safe from manipulation and social engineering, whether it be online or in real life.

What is TEDx?
In the spirit of discovering and spreading ideas, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is TEDxNIA Youth, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxNIA Youth event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
